Again some very strong competition from Box Hill, Advent Brass and Diamond Valley. Geelong West took out the B Grade section for the third time running at the Victorian State Championships in Ballarat. The Band opened with a beautiful Salvation Army piece, Meditation-The Light Of The World, arranged by Dean Goffin. For the Major Work the Band chose the exciting Endeavour by Philip Sparke. The Own Choice featured the Band's Solo Horn player, Wendy Steele, delighting the audience with the Sandy Smith arrangement of Capriccio Brillante. The final item for the day was an old favourite, made famous by Black Dyke, the march Night Templar arranged by George Allan.
